Too Warm For Pants, Too Cold For Shorts

This past weekend brought wonderful weather to Saint Louis, so I knew I had to pop out and enjoy it. It wasn't quite warm enough for me to want to run around in shorts or a dress, so my solution, as always, is to throw tights into the mix. Toss on some thrifted suede desert boots and my trusty vintage leather jacket, and I'm ready to rumble.

I'm incredibly picky about shorts and how they fit on my legs. I have athletic legs after years of sports, and, well, from just being shaped that way. I purchased these shorts at maurices last summer, and I wore them nonstop. They're just the right length, and I think they flatter my legs in all the right ways. In the photos below, you'll see what I mean by athletic legs. If I were an ancient warrior woman, I might use them to crush the skulls of my sworn enemies. I'm joking. Only sort of.

While in Maplewood, I stopped by the studio of Amelia Turner Freeman, the founder and mastermind behind One. She has an amazing, naturally-lit space above one of my favorite little bars in the city - Orbit Pinball Lounge. One is a really neat local company that focuses on bringing simple and classic fashion to the chic. Each month, one new piece is released, and is available for that month only. Amelia treated me to a beer and we chatted more about her shop... and you will hear all about it in an upcoming post! I'm very excited to share One's story with you.

One of the best parts about One's studio is that it has rooftop access! I told Amelia I would totally be asking to have a picnic on the roof sometime, perhaps during the annual Taste of Maplewood.

How do you transition your wardrobe from winter to spring? Are you a fan of tights like me?
